supplies and a special gift. I received a floral basket
brooch.
Here is a tray full of vintage shell art Judy has in her
personal collection.
The collection ranges from the Victorian period to the 30's and 40's.
I have a new respect for the art of shelling. The colors shapes sizes it is truly amazing
how Judy is able to create a master piece from all natural shells.
Judy Mackey taught the class and educated us all on the history of collecting shells and the art
shell designing.
We all made a wonderful floral brooch, just to give us a feel of what is invoved is using all the
different styles of shells.

How interesting! I collected a beautiful bunch of shells in Granville France (near the childhood home of Christian Dior)and was wondering if I could make them into jewelery.
This is the first I've heard of shell art! Looks like fun. I usually put shells in my garden.
