How Regal is This Guy?
This is my Italian Greyhound, he is a rescue and is quite a handful.
I know he looks very regal and proper, his name is Handsome what else
could it possibly be. He is my third greyhound rescue, I rescued a X racer
a large greyhound and she was soooo mellow. Handsome couldn't be more opposite.
When you look like this I guess you can do whatever you want!
He choose WILD!

Butterflies are Free
My favorite piece of the week! Look at the beautiful butterfly wing in the locket.
The background is a butterfly wing. I was lucky to come across this one quite by
accident really, a woman wanted to sell the necklace and I thought the colors were
pretty and I bought it. Little did I know the iridescent background was a butterfly
wing. It is sterling silver and is signed Pat. Aug. 1924.
I ask you does it get much better than this..... I think not!
The butterfly bowl was my first choice, I was so crazy for the colors and the
patina with the slight crackle from age I knew that bowl was coming home with me.
Just when I thought it couldn't get any better, she busts out the necklace too!
What's a girl to do?

at Gilding the Lily. We will have lots of fun and will be making new friends, memories and a wonderful keepsake.v
Great Find!
I have had the pleasure of working one on one with a friend who has been in charge of
helping sell an estate. This is one of the treasures that I had the privilege
of selecting. This is one of the finest rosaries I have seen. Beautiful blue
cut glass beads are cut into a faceted large teardrop, the cross is silver and
has Italy stamped on the back. I love the center metal, at first I thought it was
just a beautiful floral with the enamel dot in the center of the flower, but
it is a real metal with Jesus on the front a religious stamp on the back.
Such a beautiful piece I'm just loving it!

Here is the Woman who makes it all happen!
Stray Cats
I also love the sense of community at the market, the local business owners
have their merchandise for sale. I just want to be clear it's not a flee market
or swap meet it is on a much higher scale. Beautiful feathers from Stray Cats
Gilding Lily had wonderful hats, Linda Hayward had a great variety of vintage
french baskets, and bird cages, Monica from Elizabeth Designs had her jewelry
displayed, and then there was one merchant who had vintage sari fabric made in
to wrap around skirts, you can wear them 100 different ways. The are beautiful.
They also give back to India and build water wells with some of the proceeds,
so far 3 wells have been built and are up and running.
Mercantile Update
Sabrina owner of Carpe Diem has put together the most wonderful Market Place.
It has an old world feel, great vendors showing the wonderful vintage wares.
The mix is just perfect I could have spent money with each person, thier was
art work, vintage items, jewelry, home accessories and so much more. Here is a
seek peek at just a few. The Mercantile comes around once a month, the first
Saturday of each month and it is growing. I can't wait to see what next month
brings!

Monumental Moments
I can not tell how proud and happy I feel right know. My son who is now 18 is
graduating from High School! I know as parents that's what your children are
supposed to do. After my son's injury, I didn't know if he would be able to walk
or talk. He has been in special education with our school district since he was
3 years old. With all their wonderful support and services 15 years later we have
come to a milestone beyond my comprehension. Tomorrow is his last day in High School!
He will walk with cap and gown with all the other Seniors. I'm so thankful for
all the people who were involved in his journey through school. They are truly
the unsung heroes.

It's The Small Things
Well I must say I'm a little more than tired today. I took my son to Palm Desert,CA
to a wonderful Doctor. It is about a two hour drive from our home. The appointment
was 7 hours long. I have to tell you not only is he a wonderful Doctor, he knows
how to make a good cup of coffee. When we first arrived he offered to make me a cup of coffee. That was the best cup of coffee I have had in a long time.
He told me his friend gets the beans from Costa Rica, dries them and roasts the beans
in his backyard. That cup or cups of coffee totally made my day! That was so special
to me. With that flavor and blend he could give Starbucks a run for their money.
